Eine Doku des Y-Kollektiv (produzieren immer wieder spannende Videos, schaut unbedingt bei deren Youtube-Kanal vorbei) über die Abfallproblematik, welche ich gerne hier teilen möchte. Nicht dass ich noch nie davon gehört habe, aber es verdeutlicht noch einmal das Ausmass und veranschaulicht das Problem sehr gut.
// A German documentary of the Y-collective (have a look at their Youtube channel, they produce great videos) about the waste problem, which I would like to share here. Not that I’ve never heard of it before, but it illustrates the extent of the problem very well. In particular, the fact that part of the waste is shipped to third countries.

Habe letztens ein Foto vom ehemaligen Küchentisch mit diversen Produkten mit altem Design gefunden. Zum Gebrauchszeitpunkt beachtet man diese Verpackungen kaum und sie werden erst nach Jahren plötzlich interessant. Finde das Kunstwerk von Cragg bezeichnend für unsere Plastikgesellschaft und stelle mir vor, wie es sein wird, wenn unsere Nachkommen die heutigen Produkte im Museum betrachten werden.
// Recently I found a photo of the former kitchen table with various products in old design. At the time of use you hardly notice these packages and then they suddenly become interesting after years. I think, Cragg’s artwork is characteristic of our plastic society and I imagine what it will be like when our descendants look at today’s products in the museum.

Bin per Zufall auf diesen Dokumentarfilm gestossen. Vik Muniz, ein international bekannter Künstler aus Brasilien, organisiert ein Kunstprojekt mit Müllsammlern aus Rio de Janiero, trifft dabei auf spannende Charakteren und schafft gemeinsam mit ihnen eine bessere Zukunft.
